Meet the Pastor

Rev. Russell Floyd

Rev. Floyd was appointed as pastor in January 2004. He has served the church for over 25 years since 1981. He has primarily served as a parish pastor and has served congregations in Frisco Texas, East and North Dallas, Denison Texas, Bonham, Texas and Blossom, Texas since graduating from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. He received his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1984. He received Clinical Pastoral Training at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.

He currently serves on the Board of the Bridgeport Camp and United Methodist Conference Center. He also has directed a children’s camp each summer at Bridgeport for many years.  He is a member of the Board of Ministry of the Dallas Denton District and is a certified Mentor Pastor.

Russell has two daughters. Lauren lives in Dallas and is a part time student and full-time nanny. Erin is a freshman at Oklahoma City Univeristy and is a Bishop’s Scholar majoring in Religious Studies. Russell loves the game of golf, and makes his way to the coast as often as he can to enjoy a day of saltwater fishing.

Pizza with the Pastor

Meet our pastor and learn more about FUMC Lewisville! On the 2nd Sunday of each month, Senior Pastor Russell Floyd (the Big Cheese) and the hospitality team welcome visitors, serve pizza, and answer questions about the church and Methodism.

So, come join the Head Pepperoni at noon each 2nd Sunday in Room 104 (the Parlor)!

Pastor's Bible Study

Russell teaches a Wednesday morning Bible Study.  Join the group each week at 10:00 am in room 301.
